Guys, do u mind if your gf doesn't back you up in public?

This is just a hypothetical question.

Just say you are in public with your girl and some guy disrespects you by ignoring you when you greet him and looks at your girlfriend instead, would you get angry if your girlfriend didn't do anything about it?

Someone told me that in this situation, the girlfriend should tell the guy off for being disrespectful to her man, and that if the girlfriend actually acknowledges the guy by making eye contact (even accidentally, not by being flirtatious or anything, but just making eye contact because he is in her field of vision) , then she is totally disrespecting her bf.

Does this make any sense? Do you expect your girlfriend to stand up for you in a situation like this? Someone told me that by the girlfriend not cursing the other guy off and by actually acknowledging him by looking at him, she is humliating and disrespecting her significant other. Because by telling the dude off she is saving her bf the trouble of having to kick the guy's ass.

Form a guy's point of view is this a common thought process? To expect your girlfriend to back you up all the time whenever there are other guys around so they know that she's taken? Or is it expecting too much?

Just a hypothetical question, that's all.

Also someone told me that in this hypothetical situation, the girlfriend not backing her boyfriend up in public this way is enough reason for him to leave her.
Do you agree with this or is that too extreme?

if your gf looks at other guys while you two are together, you should kill her because that means shes a cock whore.

Well, when I was talking to someone, he said that in this situation the girl at the least should not acknowledge the guy who was disrespecting her boyfriend my making eye contact and that if she does look she should give him a dirty look to insinuate "Don't disrespect my man". Or tell him off, or hug her boyfriend/hold his hand to give a signal to the other guy that she is taken.

Well, to be honest, in my opinion, I feel the same way you do Dig... It's between the guys and not the girl. But someone told me that it is and that if the girl doesn't protect her man than she is at fault, and that this is a good enough reason for a break up because she apparently is not a "real woman" who knows how to protect her man.

I just thought it was an odd way of thinking so I wanted to know if other guys think the same way. I also think that the guy is way to insecure, but hey, that's just me.

In the situation you mentioned no, I could care less. If she went on to chat it up with the guy afterwards that might cause some problems. I do expect my girlfriend to take my side when dealing with HER family though.

man that's lame...what kind of an insecure fuck would need his gf to back him up cause some other dude is looking at her? Besides "hypothetically" the bf is the one fucking her at the end of the night.

No... I actually know a person who got mad over this with his gf and he is 24...
                              And she is 26...

About the street gang thing, to be honest, the guy grew up gangbanging and stuff like that so I think that is where he got it from probably? That's what I suspect anyways. Because they have that mentality of always "Backing each other up" and "dying for each other".

I am with you all the way, I think it's total immature bullcrap. The guy is 24, but I think his mentality is that of a child. He claims that "all guys" think like that, so I just thought I would go on gfy and ask . Apparently "all guys" don't think like that, he just doesn't know it.

when my wife and I get dressed up to go out, she often gets a lot of attention...I'm not only used to it but enjoy it. I'm not so insecure that I'd worry...any guy who is that insecure just isn't laying the pipe right or has issues with himself...if he's going wait around for his girl to back him up, he may as well just step aside so she can go fuck the guy...

It is retarded, I agree. But the guy I know takes it so seriously that he is moving out of the place he shares with his girlfriend because of this and breaking his part of the lease. Plus he says that this is the type of stuff that people get shot for, for disrespecting him by ignoring him and looking at his significant
other instead. I think that when you get to a certain age you have to just let the small things slide and just move on. But he says that it's not a "small thing" and that it's the small things that count.

Well, obviously he takes it seriously, because he thinks this is a good reason for someone to get shot for... It's so immature...

See, this is exactly what the guy I am talking about means! He says that he always "looks out" for his significant other, so she should do the same. But sometimes when things happen in the heat of the moment, you don't really think about it. His girlfriend might not make a scene because perhaps she is more passive and doesn't want to have an embarassing situation...

This is exactly what the guy in question means. That his girlfriend should have "kept him safe" so that he doesn't have to go kick the other dude's ass or be humiliated in public. So I guess he does have a point then?

I don't think something like that is worth confronting someone over. I'm generally too polite and shy to even say anything. However, I can go from overly polite to antisocial in 1 second. I wouldn't WANT to talk to someone who disrespected my boyfriend, so I'd walk away and comment to my boyfriend what a jerk that person was. I wouldn't sit there and have a conversation with someone who was rude to my boyfriend. Walking away and not giving someone the time of day is more considerate to your boyfriend than causing a scene.

Yea, but the girlfriend didn't talk to the guy in question. She probably should have commented how the other guy was rude and said it out loud so he could hear it, but she didn't, and that is why her boyfriend is mad at her, because she just acted as if nothing happened. He is mad because she accidentally made eye contact with the other guy, and therefore in his eyes, acknowledged the other individual that was being rude to him. It sounds trite and immature but unfortunately it happened... He would have been fine if she didn't look at the other guy, but she did accidentally, because he was in front of her face.

umm... so what's fucking big deal with being so awfully disrespected when someone doesn't greet you back? that dude sounds like 15. You should greet people not expecting a greeting back, sometimes people are busy or just not in the mood to converse, you women should know how it goes. If it bothered him so much he should just make a personal memo to ignore the fucker in future.

Another case is if the bitch is out on down with her boyfriend and flirts with other guys, whether it's eye contact, chatting somewhere away from crowd with other guys, or whatever.... then fuck the bitch hard one last time, make her eat your cock and dump her! With all the STD's going around who needs a bitch that fucks the whole hood.

He was mad because the person he greeted was the employee of a store, and he was going to ask him something, but I think the guy was a janitor or something and didn't know anything... anyways, this guy is just difficult like that. Whenever he goes to a restaurant, even a shitty one, if the employees don't greet him the way he expects, he will walk out.

He says that he was there to "make a business transaction" but the employee just fucked with him and disrespected him when he is a customer by not greeting him and looking at his girlfriend. This is when the incident took place.

He is just mad because his girlfriend didn't back him up by turning away from the guy or saying "HELLO, He's talking to YOU" or something similar to the employee... His girlfriend was oblivious to the situation , so he thinks she doesn't know how to "play the game in publi" or know how to act in public to protect him.

Yea, I do have to say that he does a good job of always "protecting" his girlfriend when other girls around, such as by grabbing her hand to let the other girls know that he is taken, and to let the other girls know not to mess with him. I guess she is just not used to it...

Well, first of all it sounds like the girl is WAY better off without this guy. She should consider herself lucky that he's leaving.

Secondly, the guy must be a pussy if he expects his girlfriend to stick up for him. What is he, in the Taliban or something? Jeez, what a jerk. It's disrespecting him if her eyes accidentally meet the other guy's? OMFG, he needs to seek psychological help IMMEDIATELY if he really feels that way, otherwise he will never have a normal, happy relationship and he'll just go on to make alot more women miserable.

If it was me and some hot girl started talking to my man and he yelled at her or something I would probably tell him not to be rude. There is no sense in being rude to someone just to soothe the fragile ego of some insecure idiot.

Of course, that doesn't mean he should flirt with the other girl or anything. That would be taking things to far. But he could say, "Hi, how are you doing? Have you met my girlfriend? Sorry to be rude, but we have things to do. Nice meeting you." Or something.
