Spo the FSC lady said I had to pay $50

When I called today I said I wanted to join, and the lady said "ok, its $50," and I said "I though it was $300" and she said "Are you a webmaster, it's $50." Am I covered with this, or should I call tomorrow and find out whats going on? Anyone know for sure?

at $50 you are coved as a individual but your sites aren't. You should be able to join @ the $100 amount if you make under 100k a year. I had the same thing happen so I called back and rejoined. They canceled the first one for me.

Ok, I'll call them tomorrow. But what do you mean I am covered but my sites aren't?

Looks like they're going to be manning the phones all night.

And I called to verify, and the guy said that since I do TGP stuff mostly that the $50 individual was the right one.

That means the DOJ can arrest http://www.yoursite.com but not YOU!

I guess it means if you are a walking adult website billboard, you're covered!
But if you use these new fangled computer thingies to put pictures of people and their nasty parts doing things online, then you're not!

I paid $300 but I registered as an individual not a corp because I am not incorporated. But then I read this in another thread:

I just got off the phone with Jeffrey Douglas, FSC Board chair and attorney. He said, if you joined FSC as an individual, your websites are not covered. You have to sign up for membership as a company, and pay according to your annual sales volume, the dues for which can be found here:

                              http://www.freespeechcoalition.com/...types=Corporate

What you want to make sure is that we have all you D/B/As and URLs. They can be compiled and emailed to [email protected].

If you have any questions, please send them my way and I'll try to get answers, but please understand that I'm overwhelmed with calls and interviews today and probably through the weekend. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

so my sites won't be covered because I signed up as an individual and I need to call in and have it changed to a "corp", is that correct?

i don't get the logic behind that. if you're doing business as an individual and not using any 'Doing Business As', and you personally registered your domain names - how are your websites not covered? so the DOJ can inspect your website, but not you? they can proseciute your website, but not you? eh?

Just tried calling to get some kind of a word about this, no one at the call center knew what I was talking about nor could answer any questions. Gave me another number to call to help answer my questions and got an answering machine. I just sent an email to Tom asking him if he could help shed some light on this.
