My S type is only 3 years old and suddenly I have been having a fuck a lot of troubles with it. Window broke down, CD changer is off and on, if I park up hill then breaks lock up.. Now stick shift cable is broke.. Back in the shop. Fed up with this..

the shifter problem shoud be under warranty,(there is a factory note in regards to this) The problem occured in the earlier Model s types. I had mine replaced, You should try and put the parking brake on when on an incline before you put it in park, keep your foot on the brake, put on the parking brake then place it in park. It helps. Get a one year old certified Mercedes-Benz with the 100k warranty. You'll thank yourself 10 years from now when you have a car that is still reliable and still good looking.
I used to own a store next to a jag repair shop. None of the mechanics there would ever own a jag because they are frought with problems.
Buy German, they are the best cars hands down. If you want a bit more style get a BMW, however, that style comes at a price when they come out with a radically different model in 5 years that renders your model very outdated.You deserve to make more money. I'll help you do that.

Ill take a Lexus any day over a Jag, although I do find the Jags attractive in looks. For those who bag on Lexus and call them Toyotas well then your Jag really is just a Ford and that Mercedes is really just a Chrysler.
My LX470 has never been in the shop and its 4 years old. My stepdad has an S600 and that car has been in the shop at least six times in two years. The other day he told me that he wished he had never bought the car because its unreliable. He is not alone. Mercedes is suffering from very bad quality problems and for the price they charge its gotta stick in the craw of owners very badly. I know my stepdad told me its probably the last Benz he will own.
