I don't get it. It seems to me that this was an ideal opportunity for the porn industry to protect it's copyrights. I read somewhere that there is significant media theft/piracy in the porn industry. If all the media were to include steganograph type identifying information, possibly encrypted/signed, to indicate verifiable model/performer information (though not actually include the information), it seems it would lock that information to the media and mean only the copyright holder would have the authentic information to prove the identity of the models. In essence, making anyone that steals the media fairly easily identifiable. Or something like that.

Good article, I'm happy about the un-biased publicity. However, I wonder if I'm missing something or if just the mainstream press doesn't cover what seems so obvious to all of us; that these new regulations really have no impact on preventing CP b/c those types of people/companies didn't abide by the original regulations in the first place.
