Hehehe... thinking of buying that "new car smell in a bottle" stuff to make sure it stays that way. Nothing beats it!

Saturn is a good family car. It's reliable and affordable and so on. Might not be the #1 choice perhaps, but it's a good choice for where my priorities are... which is my baby that's due in a month.

Good choice buying a new car though with a baby comming, that's why we ditched out 1990 VW and got the civic.

I thought about a Saturn as well but didn't want to be stuck with an Ecotech engine as this vehicle has to alst us 6 years. We are thinking of a Saturn Relay for our next vehicle tho.. better motor... lots of HP for a small vehicle like that too.

But hey, at least you have one of the safest cars on the road.

My civic is a tin can in head on accidents.

Oh, dunno if this is your first new car or not, but don;t go too overboard with trying to keep it "new". it will never happen, I gave up this spring. I just can;t keep up anymore. Mud, salt, messed carpets, paint chips, scratches from other people and ourselves... it just never ends.

Get yourself a good interior vinyl conditioner and microfiber cloth though, it will make the car look brand new all the time at least for the dash and consoles.

I know, I don't see it lasting much passed our baby's few first rides. After that, it'll be a very worn in car.

not the case imo. my first new car was a black honda civic hatchback, and i kept that thing looking brand new till the last day i drove it.

congrats on the car Stu... i would have recomended a Japanese car for this category, but regardless a good first buy, and getting a new car (especially your first) is always a thrill. enjoy!
