My background is actually in open source. I was the Vice President of Business Development for the company that brought out Python 2.0 and rescued it from the restrictive CNRI license.
The problem with a product that is open source is it's difficult to monetize .. and I wouldn't have written it (and spent SO MUCH TIME on it) if I couldn't monetize it ... so ABP open source = no ABP!
