He may come across as a prick on the boards but imo, that's just him sticking vigarously to his principles-MOST of the time at least. That's gotten me into trouble a few times as well.

The only problem I had with your post is you apologizing to the event organizers. I understand that was purely out of respect, but THEY chose the fuckin' hotel that refused to get involved and defuse the situation.

Someone mentioned going above the manager's head. I'd have done that while I was standing in plain view OF the manager. But then again, I AM a prick.

I agree, it was the right thing to do. We can debate in retrospect how it could have been handled better, but the fact of the matter is they had to make a decision in real time about the safety of Arika. In the end no one was hurt, other then in reputation. I think everyone involved in defusing the situation did a great job. We could have been reading a very different story if they had not all done what they did.
