Basically, if you earn money from outside the country, then it is legally tax-free.
However, I think the US and 2 other countries in the world, require you to still pay american income tax even if you don't live there anymore (unless you give up citizenship?). I'm not 100% on that because I came to Costa Rica from Canada, where I can keep my citizenship and pay no taxes there
If they're American they still have to pay taxes.

A normal 2 bdrm large apartment in the city can run you 200-400$/month, villas on the beach can go upto $1000 a week
Size doesn't really matter, but has to be by the water and I don't require much space... I'm skinny ;)
$4k/mo is a lot. Here I was, thinking that Cost Rica was a cheap country ;)

It is rather cheap, I was giving you the whole range though
You could prob find a small place on the beach for maybe $600-800 per month range, not sure if theyd have internet though...
Hrm that's interesting to know....sucks they can only return to their home 5 days a year though ....
Yeah, I'm not sure if its exactly 360 days... but visiting their home would be different than living there. So if someone lives in Costa Rica and visits family in the US for 2 weeks, that's not the same as establishing residency. I would imagine.

Ahh, well if that's the case then I think it would work out great. Long as each time they enter the US its for a visit or vacation...
