    Imax theater??? Difference??

    Hey im thinking of going to see Batman in an IMAX theater..

    Whats the difference btw IMAX and every other theater?

      I wouldn't see a regular movie on IMAX, I would only go see movies made for IMAX

          I agree, for most movies it's just more blackspace around the actual image - the difference vs. a normal theater (with a big screen!) is minimal... but as for IMAX movies, it will will blow your socks off.

                              I believe the main difference is the Imax is shot, and shown in a higher frame rate per second format!

                                          To be a true Imax movie the film needs to be shot in the Imax (70mm) format not the standard 35mm format that most movies are shot in.

                                          The projection is the other half of the process (much faster rate).

                                                  I saw Spiderman 2 in an IMAX theater and it was awesome, much better colors and picture quality than in a common theater. It looked like a huge plasma screen.
