I've hung out with Aaron in real life and he did exactly what I would have expected him to do, he is a stand up guy.
It's really sad, but we see things like this all too often, maybe not always to the same level. Hang out with any industry chick at a party where the general webmaster population is and you will see guys that think they can get away with manhandling a chick because she's in the biz.

I am very sorry to hear this went down, Arika. I went to one convention five years ago and was hassled so badly I haven't been to another one since. 99% of the people I met were great, but it only takes one or two people basically stalking you and trying to manhandle you for days on end to kybosh the desire to run to the next show. :-/

When a girl say's NO, she means NO. Especially considering her husband and several close freinds are standing within a few feet of her.
btw, i was there for this all, so i speak from factual experience, not only did this guy make arika cry, i was holding her and crying for her too. i could FEEL the icky SLIME that was this man was all around her poor little body and she was shaking, feeling so terribly bad that this incident was caused because of her. the only crime arika committed was being a pretty, nice, and sweet girl. THAT IS NOT A CRIME. (if you know me, i never post in capital letters, i find it pretentious, that's just me - this time around i'm still pretty up set and moved to tears thinking about the bullshit some men try to get away with around women).
thank you arika, newbreed, aaron, revsand, Halcyon, and anyone i forgot to mention by name for helping keep the situation from escalating any further. also, after this all occured, we saw him finally get a ride out of the hotel somewhere else - BUT NOT BEFORE he tried to molest chandiegirl and amy. talk about a class act.
this is "drama" but it's important drama, that guy needs help with alcohol and anger management, i agree. i'm so sorry this happened to you arika, and newbreed. this is the optimism tax i was telling you guys about last night, please don't let it stop you from being loving open people.
