"Today a band is over and gone in the time it used to take for them to learn their trade. Writing, singing and performing music."
"The biggest difference today is the money men control the business, you are not allowed to get stars so big they are in control. Back in the early days the marketing men had no clue, so the bands developed. Today they are in, up and gone in less time than some took learn."
There seems to be an interesting parallel between the music industry and the adult industry these days. Those that take the Time to Learn and Cultivate their trade will have the best chance to develop a successful long term business while those that rely on the Hype will realize once the hype is gone then so is the business. Hmmm
