Anyone care to guess? Live.com seems a tad better than MSN's old search. More importantly, it ranks many of my sites higher than Google.
What impact will LIVE have on Google?

Yeah, I think I'm with you on that. MS might have a tough time replicating how it beat down Netscape in the mid to late 90s. Google might just be too big and quickly evolving for MS to catch up to. Then again... it's not a good idea to say NEVER. Specially when it comes to Microsoft.Originally posted by pornopeteIt will peak when people switch to IE7 and then again to Vista however people will return to Google.Comment

Good point. Besides plowing tons of $$$ into marketing and building a better search engine, can Microsoft do anything else to slow down Google?Originally posted by pornopeteMS crushed NS but not enabling it to load in their OS, they cannot do that with Google.Comment

Alot of people are hoping that MSN, Yahoo etc catch up because they have high rankings in those search engines. The only reason they have those results is because the big seo webmasters concentrate on Google.
If any of the other engines move up in volume big seo'ers will focus more on that engine. Both MSN and Yahoo are fairly easy to spam/target currently. Google is not.
I don't think MSN currently could handle all the sneaky tricks Google is trying to weed out if they were targetted by seo'ers. These guys steal your signups: Read here.

I don't think so, but when looking at the SERPs for the last months, it seems that the worst enemy of google is google itself. Especially the fact that other can actively hurt your rankings which google always denied is nasty, it becomes worse every day.

I say Google is in big trouble once vista rolls out, every thing about the look and feel of IE 7 is designed to make you subconsciously less dependant of the google SE. users will find themselves using the live search just out of convenience.
I downloaded IE 7 two days ago and that is one of the first things I noticed, right away IE now feels like more like part of the OS then it did before
Only problem I see so far is that the browser is still a little buggy and local CPU resource intensive it doesn?t handle the tabs very well
But mark my words?..google going downComment

it will affect google in a negative way, surfers are usually lazy and making it convenient for them to use live is an easy way to steal searches from google, however then you have the ones that are more concerned with the quality of results and they will probably stay with google...and like somebody said, once live catches on the top sites will drop down the list because of competition...Blog Themes, TGP Design, Writing Services, Grunt Work
