If you had a FUCKING clue you would know that MACS are limited to about are limited to 3.4/3.6 GB as well, it has nothing to do with windows or macs, its a fucking limit for the fact that 32 bit systems are limited to 4gb. however to make things faster the I/O subsystem is mapped into the physical address space of the ram, so videomemory, basic I/O etc steal addresses from those 4 Gb.
