Though I do have fond memories of the first drive in where I grew up at. It was situated near the freeway. One night when I was real young like 7 or 8 we were driving home along the freeway and WHAM! out of nowhere a 20-30' tall buck naked girl was outside of my window, must of been 7 feet of bush alone. It was my first experience seeing a naked girl and I must admit since she was nearly 20 feet tall or so it has been hard to ever compare another again.
We still have some here in Phoenix. In fact, the one I go to quite often has 5 screens and plays double features. Nothing like popping up a big bag of corn, loading the cooler with some tasty beverages, putting on comfy clothes and snuggling in the back of the SUV.

We had 2 in Toronto, the last was demolished for a multi-mega-movie-monster-plex shaped like an alien spacecraft. F'in amusement park where the smallest drink will probably set you back $4.50.
I miss the old drive-ins but I don't see them making a comeback anytime soon ... shame.
I think the last time I went to a Drive-In Movie Theatre was I was two-years-old or even younger in 1978 when I saw "Superman." We do have one Drive-In left in Rhode Island. Amazing that it survived all these years. The rest of them closed down. I would definitely take your GF there. It'd be a fun experience.
My girl brought this up a few days ago... I did a quick search, I typed in "drive in theatre... " (your state) in yahoo and pulled a few sites. Here's one http://www.drivein-jim.net/driveinop_b.html
Never been. Always wanted to! Im pretty certain there is not even one near me.
