Max range is around 50ft. So depends on how close you are and if you have line of sight with the TV.

Do you have to change the signal for every tv ? or it just send it on all diff channels ?

All you have to do is hold down the button on it. It will take anywhere from 1-60seconds to turn of the tv as it runs through each channel. But the more common types of tvs are programmed in the beginning.
