Understood. Ripples are also beginning to bother one of my GFs... but she's not sure if she wants to make the move you did. Did you replace the old saline implants with the same size silicone ones or larger/smaller? I'm sure most women would go larger, but I'm curious what the surgeon recommended to reduce/counter the rippling effect... or does silicone not have that problem? i chose silicone because of it's reduced wrinkling as an implant over saline, (and because it feels squishier!) and as such, less likelihood of feeling the implant ripples or seeing them. all saline implants ripple or scallop at the edges, and to some extent silicone does too, but silicone works with your body more and rippling isn't usually an issue with smooth implants. (they have textured ones that this does sometimes occur with) another option for someone with rippling saline is either having their current set overfilled more (if they have the right kind of implant) or having their implants replaced with saline again, a smaller implant overfilled more - this gives a rounder more taught and firm look to the breast, however, so most women want to avoid this for fear of looking unnatural.
depending on where your "other" girlfriend lives, silicone may not be an option for her right away. in the states you have to be part of a study and have to meet a certain criteria to be considered for it - one of those is having already had a breast aug. (which is why i qualified). outside of the US cohesive gel (the "gummy" implant) and silicone are available to 1st timers.
