When I was in high school, back in the days when the only keyboards were on those old IBM selectric typewriters, I remember all the guys bitching in typing class "we're not going to be secretarys so why do we need to learn this crap."

Little did we know we'd all be so dependent on typing skills 20 years laters.

I took typing in the 8th and 9th grade in Jr. Hi. in Dago. I was the only guy in the class. By the end of the 9th grade, I had moved just over 120wpm. And, folks, there were no power cords on our tripewriters then (that's what I call them).

Today, I'd say I still hit around 80-90wpm correct.

I've always been grateful I decided to learn to type....correctly.
