my daugther is 21 months and about 3 months ago we moved her to a toddler bed with safety rails so she cant roll off
a few minutes ago she woke up and came into the office and wanted more milk so i think at that her age it is alright even tho it scared the crap out of me lol
kool, so close to 2 years in a crib then ... I think I like the round ones - might get one of those... I was looking at those that convert to toddler beds but if they stay in a crib for that long, a normal crib will be good.
I have no baby yet but I would say 1 year and 6 mos. and they must be transfered to a bed so that they can roll and it's easy for them to learn crawling just what my parents did with my siblings
Usually it takes one incident of the kid climbing out and cracking their head real good on something. Then it's time for a bed but it's kinda stupid to get a toddler bed when they'll need a normal bed within the year anyway. Depends on potty training. I set my alarm for 2 am from 2-3 yrs and made them get outta bed and go so it worked out ok.
My son is 18 months younger than his sister, and she was out of the crib before he was born. . . of course she was out of diapers by then too, so I guess it depends on how much time you are willing to spend with your kids.
As far as round over rectangular . . . were you planning on putting a pyramid over their crib as well?
I remember wanting a round crib with my second baby but they were too expensive. The reason was that with my first, he'd scoot as a newborn into the corner and shove his head up in there really tight. I'd be in there every 30 min pulling him downward to the middle of the crib again. Has something to do with the comfort they feel having their head pressed against your pelvic bones. Nowadays though they say not to put your baby on their stomach so it doesn't make much difference. They can't scoot in that position probably the same way.
