It's official - Pornography DECREASES sex crimes

Huge article in the weekend paper about it. Unfortunately there is no electronic version of it but I am going to scan it from the papaer and make it available.

Some highlights:
In Denmark, wherre all forms of pornography (including child porn) were legalized in 1969, sex crimes have fallen 87%.
In West Germany, where most pornography was legalized in 1973, reports of group rape decreased by 59%, and rape by strangers decreased 33%.
Similar figures for Japan and Canada.
"The research seems to indicate that if you leglize it, it doesn't lead to an increase in sexual predation; it leads to a decrease.You have an outlet, a harmless outlet".

Much more data is presented in the article. The conclusion is that you can definitely rule out the argument that wider availability of porn leads to more sex crimes. The research says exactly the opposite.

it makes perfect sense... rapists only want to get their rox off, and if there is plenty of venues to do it at easilly enough... they'd rather go there first!

This is not surprising to me.
Why spend all that time to find a rape victim when you can just jack off to a awesome video from block buster for $2.95?

When porn is illegal the guy who has it knows he has crossed into criminal behavior. This can then cause low self esteem and anger for those who feel like they have to hide their desires. Add that to the fact that the guy probably is not getting laid and feels that everyone else in the world is except him. Now add that he sees all the chicks in porn enjoying sex but not with him and of course it is because he is scum bag and chicks hate him. So now he's a woman hater and a criminal and thinking "I'm gonna get caught and go to jail for having porn so why not commit a crime actually worthy of jail time?"

Psychologically it makes sense. If someone's self image is changed so that they believe themselves to be a criminal, then they won't be so restrained in acting like one.

Now that is the bad side of things because that was a innocent picture of a guy from another country where this is so common that it could never be a crime. It is possible to have a nude pic that is not CP but I'll be damned if I'll ever show one and take that chance. Any nude photos of any kids around me would get burned no matter how innocent it was.

The power and control theory is just that...theory.
In any event it cannot account for all sexual assaults.
Fact is the majority of rapes are what is call "date rape".
No power and control in date rape; just a horny motherfucker who should jack off more. Might also help if the bitch would stop teasing for 4 hours during the date.
