No offense but thats one hell of a stupid post you made there...Originally posted by Lenny2Donavan you're reaching....get over yourself.
My view is you don't give a shit about the models, you care about your own ass and your own business. You're worried that it will be harder to find girls to shoot in the future and that will affect your income. Let's at least get off the soapbox and be honest here.
Also...if I REALLY wanted to stalk someone, why wouldn't I just hack the servers of the company that hosts the content of the person I want to stalk?
It's alot easier to do than you think......so now what are you going to do? Only sell content to people who have banking class or CIA level security systems on their servers?
What about the guy who wants to follow the stripper home from work at 3am and stalk her? Does the strip club have to provide secret service protection for her at all times in order to live up to your "moral standards"?
People everywhere in every walk of life put themselves in danger everyday, I really don't think this is as big of a deal as you're making it out to be, and I don't think the models will be in any more real danger than they have been in the past.

As for this thread well time will surely tell who is rigth, personaly I know what i'm doing

That comment is referring to trade secrets being made public by releasing the records.Originally posted by DrunkspringbreakgirlsDebate this :

As far as the privacy issue is concerned, the court has already ruled on this matter. (American Library Ass'n V Reno - DC District court 1994)
The court ruled that passing info on to secondary producers did not violate a model's constitutional rights.sig too bigComment

The comment states that primary producers who dont release the records to secondary producers are in violation of the regulaions.
The part that states "and may not use the
excuse that the records contain alleged trade secrets to avoid
compliance" refers to reasons primary producers may have for NOT releasing the records. The comment states that producers MAY NOT use this as a reason to withhold records. According to this statement primary producers must release the records.Comment

However I dont think anyone in here asked you for a link to Karup's statement, are you going to post everyone's statement in here? Or just the one's you personally like?
Try using the "NEW THREAD" feature and you can blow off whoever you want and state whatever you want there.Comment

People have legitimate concerns about models' safety: even the DOJ acknowledged that. But some of your comments suggest you have another agenda with your posts on this topic.Originally posted by DonovanPhillipsIf a model gets in front of a JURY, do you think that jury is going to care WTF you claim to have told them?
For heaven's sake, you are supposed to be a businessman as well as a photographer: are you seriously implying you would ever find yourself in front of a jury relying on different versions of reported conversations? Of course not: you would have your lawyer draw up a waiver which in plain language explained to the model that copies of their ID disclosing his/her real name and birthdate would be provided to your clients, who in turn might distribute that information to others. He/she would sign off on that waiver.
And why exactly did you jump on this thread? EPC stated that they will be blacking out (any) addresses, so unless your problem is with giving out even the model's real name they didn't deserve to have their thread hi-jacked. If the name is your problem, then I assume you will only be dealing with non-US businesses and individuals in future? Otherwise you would appear to be suggesting that only your discretion is safe in deciding who might be provided this information...
If your posts on this topic are sincere, I can't see what you want. Like them or not, the new 2257 rules are law and unless they are overturned or modified, US webmasters have to comply. If you don't want to supply US webmasters, that is your choice, but debate at this point is redundant. If you really are so fired up about your models' privacy and safety, why not spend your time promoting the use of ID's (such as passports) which display only the minimal information? I can think of several ways a studio/photographer/model are more likely to attract stalkers than via the provision of this data.Comment

there are some majorly opinionated fuckers in this business that like to ratify their opinions as industry standards. god i fucking hate that kinda shit. a note to individuals reading the propaganda spewing about this highly respected programs decision on the new regs that will shake this business to the core. use your own mind, consult your own attorneys, and make smart, concise business decisions about your companies future. we need digital muzzles on this board sometimes. one individual can uninvitingly take over a thread like a playground bully, and easily declare it their soapbox for belching out their "opinions" on very serious issues affecting the entire community. when it's all said and done, those individuals opinions can drastically affect your bottom line and bank accounts. ultimately, my gut feeling would be to look at the track record and integrity of the program and the individual decisions they make on the new regs. there is no clear right and wrong yet as this spins out, only compliance with the laws. sometimes you just need to grab your balls and make the tough decisions.
