Recently a dead whale washed up here in the Keys and the park rangers towed it out to sea three times because it kept getting washing up on shore. So they finally left it to rot on a sandbar in plain view from the main highway.
It reminded me of an Oregon newscast from the 70's where the State Highway Department (not a marine biologists or anyone else that would make sense to be there) tried to dispose of a dead beached whale with 20 cases of dynamite. Classic 70's style cinemetography at it's best!
