2257 and webmaster harassment

does anyone see any potential for anti-porn harassment because site owners office/home address information will be so accessable?

what would be the impact if evn just one person stood outside your office or home all day with a sign saying "this person is a pornographer" and the local press decided to run a story in the local media.

does anyone think that may have been the stragey behind the new 2257

No. 2257 is bullshit. No one believes me. They will crack down, but on the paysites, not the advertisers. I know this for only one reason... one of which I can NOT divulge. There are alterior motives... like drug dealing, they want the big fish - not the dimebag nigga stick up men

how is someone picketing your business harassment? that's just free speech man. now, if he comes on your property or threatens you... but I do see your point, and your worries....

I have friends in high places telling me that we are all a bunch of Y2K idiots all over again...

They know what I do and they'd let me know if something was up...

That being said... Until today, for some weird reason, I wasn't to worried...

Then Choker informed me that my FSC membership will be purchased tomorrow (I resell traffic like a mother fucker on his network and he sent my membership in with the money I'd collected in my reseller account there). Now I am thinking, shit, if they get that injunction, SWEET! I was a union member once, kinda reminds me of that. Nice protection.

If your business is run out of your home? If they call you ar home at all hours? If they post flyers telling everyone your are involved with CP? That's not harrasment.

Perhaps you didn.t read the first post. He's not talking about law enforcement. Now that it's YOUR name and YOUR adress that has to be on the 2257 page what if someone told a local anti-porn chruch group about your site? You don't think you will be harrassed what about your family?

Also if you like in say alabama and some local DA there gets info on your site you don't think they can't more easily get you for obscenity?

Get a cheap office or hire a local company to keep and file your docs . problem solved . No freaks at your door no christians protesting, no hot surfer chicks coming over for a booty call cuz she digs your porn site .....

A) Your NAME still has to be listed on the 2257 page

B) The address list has to be your PRIMARY place of business where you do work at least 20 hours a week. So if you work out of your home you have to lsit that. Even if you have an office you think Jesus freaks can find out where you live?

C) 3rd party record keepers are PROHIBITED. You DID reads the reg didn't you?

a. it is one's own choice to work from home... could get an office. that applies to both your first points...

b. you never mentioned posting flyers accusing you of cp in your first post. That would be harrassment for sure, and could be found as libel in court, too.

picketing, announcing that you are a pornographer isn't harrassment imo.
