But you can bet your ass the second .xxx goes on sale everyone will be buying up domains as fast as they can hit "enter" on their keyboards.

So, did we ask that out $10 be donated to that? No. How are we to know if they donated? Is their accountings public?Originally posted by baddogI thought you had better reading skills than that.

Point is, you may not have a choice. I look at the event if it plays out to the .xxx favor as a windfall for the haves. Can you afford to trademark all your domains? People have supported ASACP because its the PC thing to do, not because they expect ASACP to accomplish a fucking thing. "Just send in a contribution, put up their banner, and they won't mess with us anymore." Bad logic, and I'm glad I didn't fall for it.
However, I think your attack against Sleazy here isn't warranted. Sleazy's support of ASACP was done for the right reasons.

No, no, what i am i saying. You can do way more than that for $60.
I can eather get $60 xxx domain and give up my hard earned com domain.
Or
I can keep my com and with the $60.
Get 2 .com domains = $20
Get a ugly hooker to give me a blow job = $20
Go to restaurant and eat = $10
Buy a dime bag and smoke weed = $10Comment

I count Sleazy as a friend, and I also respect Choker, although we've never met. I'm not trying to kiss Sleazy's ass, I just call it like I see it. Choker and I can disagree about this, I know the battle between those two runs deep. I would advise both of them to stop attacking each other and tackle bigger mutual issues together. I really don't mean to bump this thread but I wanted to add to it some text I copied from the new.net site... in plain english for those that dont want to read on, it says that if icann approves .xxx which already exists with new.net then there will be 2 different registries for .xxx ... which means when you register a .xxx you will have the choice of either registering with new.net OR an icann approved registrar. ... which means ALL the domains currently registered with new.net will be available!!!
9. What will happen if ICANN releases a domain name extension that is identical to a New.net domain name?
We are working very hard to achieve universal resolvability of New.net domain names through a combination of ISP relationships and plug-in downloads. At the same time, we are reaching out to ICANN and its supporters to get them to understand the viability of our names and our approach and to get ICANN to add our names to the "root" servers that they operate. Should ICANN decide to introduce a domain name extension in conflict with one of our extensions and assign it to another registry, they will in fact introduce a "collision" in the name space, something they have professed wanting to avoid. If that were to happen, individual consumers and ISPs would have to choose between the ICANN version and the New.net version of the name. It is our intention to demonstrate a massive market acceptance of our names that will prevent such collisions from being introduced.TengaCash

Baddog...come on now...Choker has a very valid point...Originally posted by baddogTo be honest, no. Sounds more like ramblings of an idiot.
Why aren't you accusing Lensman of this instead since he stated publicly that he thinks .xxx is a good thing?
Here is the part that just tweeks my brain: If .xxx is supposed to be so good and its for a Noble cause "protecting children" hey I would be the first mother fucker to stand and say hey i am involved. But no they stay behind closed doors hiding.
Then the part that makes even sicker to my stomach is there "sales job" to the media, and others saying its for the "children" that one keeps me just so fucking fired up I cant even begin to tell you.
I let Larry Flynts people know exactly what is going on with this deal, and when they called him for comment they ran that bullshit "Protection for the children part" I can tell you that if this sleeping dog wakes up and realizes that our freedom of the internet is being sold out for profit by a small group of greedy people who really dont give a shit about you or me or any of us, all hell is going to break loose.
Also the bunching of all of us onto a .xxx group has already been well recieved by the govt...connect the dots if you will, its almost to much for most to take it all in, but for a second try to think this one thru.
It smells like fucking dog shit....Comment

just an observation.
It appears that one of these two individuals is making a stand. and asking some questions. ( I may not agree with the method but at least he is asking questions) And making his feeling known and trying to some good for the overall community.
The other brilliant GOD of TGP hasn't really said much on the subject. Some people look to him as a leader.
"Sleazy is not in the US so 2257 doesn't affect him"
"Sleazy is on the board of Asacp, he's getting ....blah blah blah"
People are thinking it, as I said I may not appreciate the method but at least he asked."We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won't need to tell anybody it does. Lighthouses don't fire cannons to call attention to their shining- they just shine."Comment

ASACP is a non-profit organisation, as such any money they make goes into a fund, not to the board members. If you feel so strongly about any supposed wrong-doing then I suggest you review their finances yourself.

The concept of XXX domains can be dressed up to appear logical, but that is as far as it goes. There are no potential benefits for the public unless adult sites are confined only to such domains: those benefits are achievable in other ways, at far less cost and risk to us. There is nothing but bad news in this concept for the adult industry, no matter how far down the road you look.Originally posted by pussyluverLens is our host and he came out in favor of .xxx. Lensman's attempt to justify the new TLD was half-hearted. The thread left a very bad taste.Comment

What is bullshit is this form letter Joan posted trying to pass it off as not supporting the .xxx Someone agreed to give ASACP a cut from the sales. Was it out of the goodwill in their heart to do this? OMFG. Someone is getting greased good from this deal. Now do you think this decision was made with that letter being the only correspondence? Why doesn't Joan post the letters that surely have to exist that discuss giving ASACP a portion of the proceeds. Was it just to help "the children" or was it in return for ASACP's support of .xxx ???? Give me a fucking break. There are some rotten rats on this ship. I for one would like to know who they are. As far as I am concerned any member of ASACP may be the rotten rat that suggested selling us out. Surely Joan got the opinions of some of the members before agreeing to support this .xxx crap.ICQ me lets make a deal 116894466

As entertaining as this thread is, is there any basis for your allegation other than your everlasting vendetta with Sleazy? I agree this new development is not positive, and I doubt the integrity of ASACP's finger in this but you could accuse TheHun as easily as Sleazy... unless you have a solid reason for it.
