Threads like this make me happy that I don't play at this level in the business anymore - too many clueless fucks play down here.....
First and foremost - it's their affiliate program and their rules - if you don't like the rules, don't use em'. If you think yelling and screaming in a public forum about their program rules are going to change those rules - you should go ahead and set an alarm clock to wake you from your dream.
You need to skim to traffic trade - buy some content and make some thumbnails and use a rotating script so that when their supplied thumbs are shown the link goes to their sites and when your home made thumbs are shown you can skim to other sites.
Any program that weeds out the truely ignorant from promoting (and over promoting them) is only going to be stronger in the long run...Comment

Ive known Goodwill for a while. I use the thumb script he created, works great....
Ive traded traffic with seavirgin, never got any spyware or any other bs from his site, checked it today and didnt get any virus alerts either.
ATK is on my list of sponsors to stay away from. Honestly, Ive never heard of em till this thread anyways....

1. I believe sponsors/site owners form a symbiotic relationship. I don't see it as one side having all the "power". Both need each other in various ways either now or have in the past. It would be just as foolish to blow off affiliates as affiliates to blow off sponsors.Originally posted by opflix
2. TGP's *are* a horrible way to generate profits for various reasons. There is even a fine line between the usefulness of galleries for promotion. The only way you are going to make good money with a program and use galleries is a site that is almost exclusively dedicated to that site or is organized in a useful fashion and actually has some function on the web.
3. On the flip site, TGP's can be great for creating "desire" - but only if they send people to the content displayed in the thumb!Comment

I've seen programs go the affiliate route to grow sales. There is no question that ATK is bigger today because they have affiliates. When you say they 'don't need them', it is a short-sighted idea because the range of affiliate benefit to their site extends not only to the present, but all past activity and name building by affiliates.
