    Microsoft ending support for Windows XP Service Pack 1

    Microsoft is going to end support for Windows XP Service Pack 1 and 1a next Tuesday. Critical updates and security fixes will only be available for users who have or upgrade to Service Pack 2.

      nowadays thats not a big deal, most folks went over to sp2 a long time ago..

          to be honest, windows xp sp2 still has a lot of problems.
          That's why i use linux.

                                                  not big deal. win98 had some unofficial updates and microsoft actually ended support much earlier than it was announced.

                                                  i could make it run 99% of winxp programs. just find unofficial wn98 sp v1.5 and install office xp (or newer) and you'll get the same shit, even much more secure that xp.

                                                  sp1, sp2, what's the difference?!
