First I think you need to get that book, you say "ive done these two toons to settle the debt" then you sell one of them. Second, when someones pays you money like that, you work your ass off, do what you can and wait for more work or what its gonna take to finsh, no fucking around! I work every fucking holliday weekend and soo on and it pisses me off to see guys making a ton of money doing dick shit. Im not saying its not bad to take a day off but no more that one or two when work is waiting to be done. You finish what needs to be done first!

I sold the one he ordered AFTER THE TWO THAT SETTLED THE DEAL that he refused to pay for .

A Toon with 2 characters goes for $250 give or take depending on detail .

WOW...whatta long thread, this tires my eyes, anyway ive got no beef to any of u...but then i have talked to mark for few times only but i know he's a good & decent guy. if i were the designer, id rather offer the last TOON for free in addition to the other 2 TOONS which have been said to be the last resort to settle the debt. it seems that i get enough money from the 7k upfront for almost half done project...well it think its pretty much fair enough. id rather not bring on board & slam anybody else accusing him to be a thieft wherein in fact the upfront money had given a LOT of help already even the project has not been fully done. well i think, only if u have talked to him the most courteous way possible, u might have settled this problem already out of the board with still the same respect for each other. yah know its just a matter of respect & understanding, who else will help the other peeps in the biz but of course only those who are from the biz too. to both of u guys, this is not a hopeless case to work things out...be brave & talk to each other like a MAN, (just my 2 cents)

if you get payed 7K up front for something and do not have to do all the work for what ever reson, refund some of the money you did not earn. Now if they want to have you finish latter, cool. But true they can't expect you to drop everything and rush over a frigging holiday to do what you should have had plunty of time to do earlyer.
