I think it would do much better as it is with its viral effect. To answer your question though, yes, i probably would promote it since its rather easy to convince someone to join, especially if their friends are already there.

only if I had a large volume of traffic to send on a regular basis. 20-30 signups a day at 10-25 per signup isnt really worth it.
