Honestly speaking here 'theking'...what specifically did I say that came across as being a smart ass....besides pointing out what the acronym BMI stood for?
Had I just said "BMI", I'm somewhat confident that most folks would not have understood what that means...(and I could be wrong?that I?m willing to admit to)
However, since I'm described by friends/family as being straight-forward, I like to make sure that when addressing someone regarding a particular subject, I do not come across like "I'm holier than thou" by using fancy acronyms or words that the rest of America never uses in their daily conversations.
This explains why I said: ?That would be Body Mass Index, in case you didn?t know?
If you (or for that matter, DearAby) interpret that statement as being sarcastic in nature, I apologize, as that was not my intention. I merely wanted to present my findings in a clear and consise manner.
