$40 will buy you 1 free drink I think. I didn't go to nightclubs too often, but when I did I never really cared how much it cost. It's all about having a good time and I don't worry about money when I go out.

If you spend $30-$100 on entry fees that's a small amount of money compared to what you're going to spend in total that night.
