    What does an ulcer feel like?

    How do I know if I have an ulcer? What are the symptoms?

                  burning in your belly and throat.. reflux... hard to explain the burning sensation like its burning a hole in your stomach lining does it for me

                      Symptoms of Ulcer

                      There may be no symptoms of ulcers or the individual may experience:

                      * A gnawing or burning pain in the abdomen between the breastbone and the navel. The pain is usually worse a couple of hours after a meal or in the middle of the night when the stomach is empty.

                      * Nausea

                      * Vomiting

                      * Loss of appetite

                      * Loss of weight

                      * Tiredness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer)

                      * Weakness (a symptom of a bleeding ulcer)

                      * Blood in vomit or stool. When blood is in the stool, it appears tarry or black (symptom of a bleeding ulcer).

                                              It's the worst burning you have ever had in your life in the pits of your stomach, or so it is for me. And if I eat anything too spicey, it's ten times worse. What I found that works is to drink about a cup of milk or so before a meal that's potentially spicey and that helps a little with it. Luckily I am not into spicey foods though. lol

                                              I always tell people it feels like my stomach is trying to eat it's way out, it hurts so much sometimes. I have two ulcers and they don't give me fits TOO much, but boy when they do.
