    How can you beat the shitty internet cafe settings? (in Asia)

    - they dont let you access the control panel to delete cookies etc

    - stupid advertising along the bottom of the screen

    Is there any tips on how to get rid of this shit? i'd love to "beat" their shitty ass settings



    (for those of you in Flipland that have used Netopia know what i'm talking about)

          well.. you can use one of the web proxys all over the net.
          you will have to pay a bit.. to get https access.. but.. they let you control the cookies... and all the history going to show is that you were going to the proxy's URL.. everything else.. is encrypted between you and the proxy

          their are other options on the net .. for secture connection using a labtop as well.. that secure the connection.. so you can use public networks .. and if anyone is on the line .. well they get crap that is 128 bit encrypted

                  you can't, tehy're set by the administrator on the PC so it has nothing to do with proxies and shit

                  only if you're worried about leaving traces tehn use something like findnot.com - it's very cheap

                          Antonio , actualy web proxys do let you control cookies.. since they .. their server keeps the cookies for you.. nothing is passed to your browser.
                          ... you can set reset or whatever your cookies using them.. its cool .. if you are using anything public .. like a public libery or anything like that

                              what the hell does clearing cookies do?

                              I'd be more worried of a place like that having a packet sniffer capturing all incoming and outgoing network traffic.

                                  can u load up regedit? I can get round the stupid shit in my local gym manually adding proxy settings for windows in the registry

                                                  clearnig cookies can try to clear all the sites you've visited so somebody cant get on and check the cookies to see the sites you were just on

                                                  gfy/porn/etc etc is frowned upon badly in Asia, VERY frowned upon, it's illegal here
