This tells an experienced designer (one who will NOT disappear on a good client -- one who values repeat business from a decent client) that you're a cheap-ass and hot worth taking on as a client. This leaves you with designers who think a slave wage is initially a good idea but half-way through the project wakes up and realizes they are being taken advantage of and will never be able to pay the bills on the agreed upon fee. Thus, they avoid you at all cost when you return to try and rape them some more.
