you 're full of shit, I've built and paid for over 100 designs in 2 years and only used 4 different designers..so I think my business is good plus I pay fast by epassporte. I am an experienced designer, and it is IMPOSSIBLE for a client to be a cheap ass, because any designer who doesn't know what they are getting paid BEFORE they start the work is a fucking noob and needs to get their jobs off the Art Institute bulletin board.Comment

As GFX Wiz stated, The reasons why designer disappear is because when we get stiffed and deal with enough bullshit, we tend to make ourselves "conveniently unavailble".
Too many people out there that think, we are a walking "yard sale" and don't whant to pay, at least, decent money.
From, $3 banners, $100-$200 paysites, even $5 galleries,freesites, etc, etc.
Plis, the bullshit we have to put up with. No Thanks.
I'm not saying, thats what is going on with you. But for the most part, that what normally happens.
I'm also, am looking for a good company to work with that doesn't deal in bullshit. I had had it with freelance work. Noo much bullshit and people wanting to pay Phillipino" money for top end design work.
You get, what you pay for.
But, I have my doubts, companies or clients exist.
The industry has went into the toliet a few years ago.
