Name calling does nothing aside from getting a small laugh if it was funny enough. Problems aired in public though typically end up with a solution and often very quickly for the person that was screwed.

Drama stuff typically could and should be handled in private I agree. Often that does not work out though or they just ignore you. Drama should never be knee jerk either though and it is important to think it out.
However when potential drama also effects more than one person and those people may not know they are getting screwed, it does not seem right to keep it private. If you think so still, then your in violation of your #1.
