Well I donated and here's my take on it. Any person without 1 million dollars sitting in the bank not collecting interest would panic and look ANYWHERE for help if their child is sick and are being told they can't be helped at home.
Jumping the gun in panic? WHO THE FUCK WOULDN'T? How helpless would you feel if your child is slowly dieing in front of your eyes and you can't do anything because you don't have the money to go to another country to get him treated AND because your pride is too big to ask for help?
I'm not going to judge him. He received better news and I truly wish they are correct with the new assessment - but in the slight case that they are wrong and he still has to go? Also, surviving on one salary isn't easy. Being distracted because there's a life in jeopardy, a sick child crying in agony and you can't do anything to pacify him, isn't going to help you make the money you'll need to survive. Fatigue, stress and emotional burnout is what is coming for them. If a few bucks from all of us can help this family give the child the attention and patience he will need & help them cover their bills due to their decreased incomes - I don't have a problem with that. If he gets a plasma TV, that's a different story.
