both cameras are great, especially for someone who needs to ask whitch one is better.. the truth is there are chances that not even a PRO photographer could specify if one photo was taken with one or another at same rez... the only answers for that type of question are: - If you have NIKON optics, stick with nikon, same for Canon... - If you are a Canon fan, go for Canon, same for Nikon... - Canon is on top on the wave right now, that means more money to invest in technology... - the Nikon is an older model, and that's not a bad thing...not old enough to make a difference in quality or tech...but old enough to be more... "trustworthy"... - I own several Canon DSRL, will never go back to nikon, UNLESS SOME REAL MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH... my lenses costs far more than the camera bodies....Comment

The D70 will out perform the XT for continuous photographs... the speeds are comparable but the XT will stop after 14 or so pics.
They both have their own advantages, it depends on what you're preferences are.Comment

its better then canon eos 300d
but canon now produces eos 350d
so don't know whats better

I didn't think d70 was better than 300d except d70 had a little better lens coming with it (which didn't bother me at all) otherwise, both pretty much the same shit wouldn't make any diff (except the price is ofcourse few 100s cheaper for 300d and that's cos of the lens types) unless you are just too nit picky. 350d certainly looks better yet again, I bet you any money it's not gonna make any significant diff in quality of pics taken unless ofcourse you need larger prints that 8 megap can provide. For adult photography some of the P&S cams (example Nikon Coolpix, Fuji FinePix) would also work just fine then again for just a bit more money you could buy the SLRs now so why not SLR?Originally posted by mammy

If you get the Canon, you can adjust the parameter to +2 sharpening as it's softer than Nikon. Canon skin tones will be warmer with a red-yellow cast.Originally posted by 4Pics

thing is mostly not in camera
if comparing 300d and 70d
70d kit has way bette lens - that gives 60% of quality to the final picture
but if buying canon body with good lens (not kit ones) then may be 300d is liks 70dComment
