I get into bed and close my eyes.... Then I wake up the next day. Simply dont do anything to distract yourself in bed so you know that when your in bed you are going to bed... except for love making, always welcome that into bed cause that will always get you to sleep better...

I sleep in the morning since I work at night.
If I can's sleep, I just grab my ipod and listen to mellow music till I fall asleep.
Sometimes I read "Sophie's World" makes me fall asleep fast.

Once a week I either do Tylonol PM, Benadryl or Lunesta. I love Lunesta, so I try not to do it as often so I wont get hooked. But Lunesta is awsome

I've read that sleep problems are caused my psychological problems.
I'd recommend to listen to some relaxation tape before sleeping. I did that once when I was in stressful times and it helped really well. Get a good New Age Meditation tape about how you're in tune with the Universe and shit. That will help.
