Managed.com Ep III - Revenge of the Downtime

    Who else is affected?

My box with Managed.com has been down on three occasions now the last few days, for lenghty periods of time as well. When I wrote them about it yesterday they blamed my connection, but a simple traceroute shows that the connection is being hold up in their own network. I wrote them an e-mail 4-5 hours ago about the current downtime situation, but no response and no fix yet.

Why did I write this? Because sometimes you apparently have to bring matters to the boards to get things fixed.

Why do you guys even use them.
I know everyone is looking for cheaper and cheaper but still.
add 20 bucks and get one from ev1 whos network is rock solid.

I have bunches of servers with them and basically never a problem. If theres a problem its usually solved within a hour.

I agree with Franck here, I hate to be the outspoken newb but I have set client's up with managed boxes and have never once heard a complaint. Of course I am not saying they are infallible, just never had a problem with them personally. Though now that I know they may be having problems, I may start setting client's up at layered or something.

I wouldn't put anything of value there.
Sure they're ok for junk boxes, but not for something you can't afford to be down.

thats bullshit. The only thing ever bad about mananged is the one downtime occrunce a year back.
Its just as solid as ev1 and maybe even better and a lot cheaper.
