    What's the best way to get good screen caps from a DVD?

    What program allows you to pop a dvd in your drive and scroll through easily stopping on good frames and clicking off caps?

          If the dvd isnt encoded in macrovision SnatchIt! will do it just open the .vob files.

                  what software can capture frame shots AND generate custom html, the way arles can for thumbnails linking to jpgs and gifs?

                      Snagit can generate thumbs pages and the html to link to the pics

                          It does it all? You can customize it just like you can customize arles for the html links you want?

                              I have no idea what Airies can do. Never used it. I know that Snagit generates the thums and the linking codes and I can go into any html editor and edit the links to what I need them to be.

                                      Hi bjjb, thanks for the info............it sounds like it does what arles can do for linking thumbnails to pics..........arles can generate all your html, you just set your template you are using, insert your links in it in a certain area, arles recognizes it.........then you cue whatever jpgs you want linked, and voila, it generates all the links and pages for you.

                                      sounds like this does the same thing but for video. arles cant do that.
