I always thought ARS was very smart when they did this, they had shitloads of tours, shitloads of galleries and people promoting their own tours and galleries to get more money per signup... However, if I'm not mistaken, they paid for the tours and galleries some money, like $200 or so per tour and 10 per gallery. That made sense, but when you need 400+ sales to be even I don't think it worth the effort (and let's agree a $400 tour usually means a newbie crappy tour which will make it a lot harder to get sales)

Of course, just MHO, maybe the designers find this attractive, or maybe this can be used as portfolio for some designers with no previous sites or things like that
