It probably has a affect in improving certain parts of your brain- mostly the right side. Things like reflex, reaction time, could improve. Maybe even improve your learning ability in a small way but If you mean smarter as in overall book smarts, I would say no.
Of course. Today's game are complex. I mean they have said for years going stuff like puzzles and shit stimulates the brains and makes you smarter. Well video games are more complex than a crossword puzzle. My 9 year old likes these games that you have to keep track of 15 different things at once and he can figure them out easy and I'm looking like a retard. He says shit like "Look dad it's simple, all you have to is press X and triangle while holding L1 the move right then press square and R2....." etc. WTF is that shit? When I was a teen-ager I played shit like Donkey Kong.
