obscenity convictions in the united states are started by showing materials to a grand jury.

ordinary people who you might see in the supermarket or mall, who happen to be registered voters.

My husband and I have pay sites and we process with CCBill and there has been no email, nothing on their site to indicate new policies.

They are very good about taking care of their clients. I've never had to guess, not in six or so years, so I will wait to hear THE official word from CCBill.

Check some of your local video rental shops for horror, action/adventure and sci-fi and look for movies with an "R" rating and you will soon realize there are many many films "readily available" to the public that do in fact contain most of what you mentioned and more. Scenes acted out by actors, of forced sex, confinement, murder, extreme violence, even torture and dismemberment and gore. All done with special effects and paid actors of course, but so to is the content on the internet.

How can the community standard of tolerance be at one level for movies and TV but different for the internet?

I'm not suggesting all of the funky content out there should be immune from regulations. Of course there is going to be certain stuff that is obviously over the top, but when someone points their judgemental finger at content and calls for a ban and the webmaster's arrest and I can find similar content readily available in movie rental shops That was viewed, assessed and passed as ok by that same community then THERE IS SOMETHING GROSSLY WRONG IN THAT.

How many adult webmasters would make it to the conviction phase? Most people will have to settle because the government will make you go broke or find somewhere in your taxes where you wrote off something you shouldn't have and bust you for that or anything else.
