You loose sight of land at about 12 miles so you can imagine going for another 50 miles past that. It's very intimidating at first but definitely puts you in perspective with things.
You are nothing out there, just a spec in a huge body of water and usually you never see another boat, and when you do you are very leery.
Anyways the grouper & snapper must call that home. I pick up a few Dolphin there also off my chum slick while free lining a squid or chunk of cut bait.
It's great when you're hooked up. Nothing like it. That's why I love Snook. They are badd asses.
They even come with a racing stripe!

That would scare the shit out of me.. I have a glacier bay cat with all the bells and whistles but I still dont know how to use the nav system etc.
I'm turning around if I dont see land LOL
maybe thats why i only catch catfish in the bay
