Why cant i do it? Because i cant just walk in on land and claim ownership of it...i have to BUY the land...Now when i go hunting for fish and wild animals i will need to worry about regulations and permits, which cost money.
It's a completely different world today than it was thousands of years ago...
Yes... and technically in the states you can't really _OWN_ land. If you did own the land, then your annual property taxes would be 0 and it couldn't be taken away from you. Anyway, that's another thread.
Who ever said money was the key to a happy life? I only said it sustained life, in today's world and not thousands of years ago, which is all that matters
I don't think anybody question's the need of money to live nowadays, now saying its EVERYTHING, quite a big difference...each one to its own tho
No, trade was needed as one community didn't have everything available that they wanted or needed. Not every community had the proper soil for ever kind of vegetation.
Communication across communities was needed.... but not for money. For mutual gain but not for money.
do you actually know the history of money ? and how money came about ? you should STFU and go back to history class
Just because you don't have any money, doesn't mean that you have piss on yourself. That usually means that you have some other issues than just lack of money.
A good example is a homeless person that lives besides my kayak club. He has lived there for pretty long time. Every morning he brushes his teeth, bathes himeself in the canal and packs up his stuff. He keeps "his" place super neat.
His a very nice guy, just had some bad luck that made him end up on the street.

Think about that.
He must be very happy and content with his life then, no?
Either way, he definitely isn't interested in knowing who is going to be the next american idol.
Are you really that stupid? You keep comparing really rich, with the poorest people. There are a lot of ppl, who make enough for a small house, food etc. I was refering to those people. They can be very very happy too. SOme are more happy then rich people. Oh well,
But yet it goes without saying that every week he needs to make $x in order to survive. Or does he?
Perhaps there is so much discarded shit in this world (or at least in this country) that is still useable or consumable, that a very small number of people could live completely off of that crap that others throw away.
Sort of like those little fish that live around the mouths of sharks?

They get whatever is left over.
Some days he fish, some days he eats at the shelter, some days he has money to buy some canned food, some days he gets food from other places.

Money isn't an important factor
lol, do you acutally believe this bullshit ? ? you think that dude is their cause he likes it ? in his case he SURVIVES without money , but I am pretty confident that he much rather have lots of money and live in a mansion
if you want FREEDOM you need money , no money , no freedom
Money can't buy you everything. People with money to burn encounter many of the same fundamental life problems that poorer people experience and it's often the case that they are less prepared for them.
If your goal in life is to earn a lot of money, make sure you enjoy your way on that journey because when your life is near it's end, the path you took and choices you made along it will make up who you are, not the pot of gold and material riches you've aquired.
Money is very important for most people, it can help you extend your life, get you nice things to surround yourself with and make you feel more secure but it's not going to make you live forever and it's not going to solve every problem.

if you want FREEDOM you need money , no money , no freedom
period!
I've talked to him. He's quite happy
Freedom doesn't necessarily have to be about having money or no money, it's different from person to person.
For me, freedom is to not be attached to anything materialistic and not be bothered by what people think of me.

you first have to know what freedom is,
freedom is doing what you want when you want it,
most people are not free to do that, they have obligations ,they HAVE TO do this or HAVE TO do that in order to survive (pay bills , etc)
if you have a very limited view on what freedom is then maybe you can feel it , but if you want freedom in EVERY nuance of the word you will need MONEY and lots of it
no money = no freedom
but of course as said , if you limit what freedom is to you then in your mind you can experience it , but if you look at the big picture ,then no you cannot have it without $$$$$
Life is mostley about wanting. If you don't have it, you want it. If you have it, you'll want something else.
Money is nothing but comfort. I have been on both sides, from bouncing 20.00 checks, to driving a lambo and take it from me. I had some better days when I was bouncing those checks.
Hopefully you'll figure it out on your own one day, probably after you become financially comfortable. If you never figure out why, you'll never lead a truly happy life.
When I first made my money I thought it would make my life perfect, I couldn't have been more wrong. Money isn't everything, IT'S NOTHING. I have plenty of money but it means nothing to me, I'd give it all away in a heartbeat if it would make my family safer or more happy.
"Money isn't important, it just seems like it is".
This isn't something anyone can explain to you, you have to figure it out on your own.
PS. The secret of life it 42. Don't say Rich never told you anything.
ive had true friends for a long long time and they are not going anywhere anytime soon, for me the next thing is money being everything, just the fact that it helps me do what i want.

In my opinion, it's you who has a very limited view on what freedom is.
