With masturbation, as with sex, it is an inescapable irony that EVERYONE, even those who most loudly condemn the expression of these activities, -- that EVERYONE -- is a practitioner.

Yes, things are changing -- as they always are -- and it certainly seems we're talking more often, more publicly and with greater frankness about sex -- once again.

But, as marketers of Adult products and services (who hope to remain such for a while longer), we should remember that opportunities to speak more freely about sex are not so much opportunities to sell our wares, as they are opportunities to assert the RIGHT to sell our wares. The demand will always be there, I promise you -- -- that sale ain't a hard one --

The really hard sell will be getting the people who equate pornography with Evil (though they use it themselves), the people who sit on juries, the people who VOTE -- getting THEM to live more comfortably with the morality of our industry.

Therefore, for encouraging helpful discourse on the subject of sexuality, I applaud Masturbation Month --
