Did it occur to you that maybe his user/pass was brute forced by someone else and has been posted on one of the password boards and that he's just the victim? This happens all the time to innocent members and a new user/pass needs to be issued. If he had really been sharing his user/pass do you think he'd actually email you? You need to get a system in place to cut off the user/pass well before that much has been downloaded.
