Illegal immigrants are everywhere - not just in the US. I've done the same and in the process learned some background from a couple of them. The risks and *severe* hardship some of these folks go thru to earn a basic living is unbelievable. It's kinda criminal any human being should have to do that.

People go there because we don't have many options in this area and it's not as bad as I may have led you to think by describing it as "fetid".
