This may be (and probably is) be a dumb newbie question but if you are building a freesite (everything is either galleries on your site or affilaite links to hosted galleries), why would you want repeat visitors? I have seen people with these types of site updating pages and adding new content every day. Why would you want to attract repeat visitors - surely if they are interested in signing up to a site through yours they will do it on their first visit, no? Otherwise they are just coming back to leech your bandwidth..

Because repeat visitors obviousley like the content of your site and are more likely to click the referal links. Most surfers doesnt stay members to a paysite for more than a couple of months so after they sign up and cancel a month later they might sign up again from your site. Bookmarkers will also most likely visit your site before going to others which means that they will see your ref links/galleries when they are oh so fresh and so horny.

Return visitors are great..a free traffic source that you get a chance to sell something else to. Eventually they will bite, or at the very least you'll trade them to someone else for some new visitors to sell to.
Especially these days with bandwith costing a few pennies a gig.. whats the downside?Comment
