    Return on Investment

    Domain Sales this year

    Diamond.com $7.5 million
    Blue.com $500,000
    Bike.com $500,000

    Sex.net $454,500
    Nasty.com $200,000
    GetMovies.com $75,000
    KinkyGirls.com $65,000

Sex.com sold last year for estimated $12+million

    (source dnjournal)

My question is what is the rate of return on investment for these type of domain names?

If you buy an apartment complex for $500,000 you might expect an ___% return on your investment. If you buy GetMovies.com $75,000 what sort of ROI can you expect?

    Thanks in Advance.

thats not necessarly a stupid question, because in the case of typ*in domains you can calculate it quite easily

and yes, compared to rental apartments, its usually a better deal, although definitely more risky, if you're thinking long term ( beause you cant predict what will the web look like in 15 years from now )
        I don't use ICQ anymore.
