tattoos are a cultural artifact.
a pop culture fashion "branding" of sorts.
indicating mostly the educational level of the parents.
you won't see many tattoos in the worlds of medicine, corporate america, and academia.
you won't see many tattoos on high achievers.
and although they can be occasionally artistic and beautiful they do not improve the attractiveness of otherwise attractive people.
getting tattoos is possibly the worst mistake someone can make if they are interested in upward social mobility and long term income.
